The Effinger Brewing Company was founded in 1870. In 1896 it became one of the first breweries in Wisconsin to sell beer in bottles. This design was inspired by the label from a 1940's beer bottle.
Increased competition from national breweries, wage increases, and a labor shortage proved to be too much for Effinger. It closed in 1966.
