Now a National Historic Landmark and part of a residential condo complex, the buildings at 1315-1317 Fletcher Street on the Northside of Chicago were once home to The Best Brewing Company. This brewery dates back to 1885 and was renamed the Best Brewing Company in 1891.
During their 70 year history Best brewed more than 24 different brands of beer – several of which were canned “contract” brews for local grocery-store chains. The happy little fellow on this logo comes from a “Best Select” beer label (brewed from 1933 – 1950).
