Florida Brewing Company - Tampa, FL (1896 - 1961)

Florida’s first brewery was located in Tampa (present day Ybor City) and was founded by cigar makers.  Its investors included Vicente Martinez-Ybor, for whom Ybor City is named.  

For years the 6-story brewery at 500 13th Street was Tampa's tallest building!  Their most successful brands – Tropical Ale & Tropical Beer – were brewed from 1933 to 1961.  After closing the building became a storage warehouse for Corral Wodiska y Ca Cigar Company.
